Once upon a time, I had a wardrobe that was filled with beautiful clothes that were hardly ever worn. I’m sure we’ve all been there at some point. You’re out shopping and see something you just have to take home, you get home, shove it wherever you can find some space in the wardrobe, and it ends up forgotten. I finally got to the point where the more clothes I had, the harder it was to decide what to wear. The longer it took me to figure out what to wear, the more frustrating it became when I was getting ready to go somewhere.
Something I did notice though, I usually ended up wearing the same few clothes over and over, and I had all this other stuff that just sat there, most of it still had tags on. I couldn’t help but wonder, why did I keep hanging on to all that stuff. Not to mention, but it also felt wasteful.
These days, my wardrobe is quite the opposite. I have a few key items that go together well, and I don’t purchase any clothes unless something needs to be replaced, or unless I find something that I am so in love with I know I will wear it. (That does not happen often).
My wardrobe is pretty basic, and at this time I feel I should mention that I do work from home, so my Autumn capsule wardrobe consists of casual items. I like to add interest and colour with accessories, and keep my clothing items fairly neutral. So this is what will be hanging in my wardrobe for Autumn …
– THE TOPS –
– THE BOTTOMS –
– THE OUTERWEAR –
– THE ACCESSORIES –
– THE SHOES –
Let me know in the comments what is your favourite fashion item for Autumn. For me it is definitely the boots. I am impatient all Summer waiting until I can take the boots out of storage. A close second for me would be scarves. I’m kind of like a little kid who won’t be parted from their “blankie”, in Autumn I take a scarf everywhere with me.
Love this capsule wardrobe? Then pin it for later.
